Austin Energy Resource Plan - Information Webinar and Community Engagement

About Event

Please join us for an informational webinar covering the Austin Energy Resource Plan this MONDAY, 3-4pm, one day before Tuesday's City Council Meeting and opportunity for public comment.

As many of you know, work to develop the Austin Energy Resource, Generation and Climate Protection Plan to 2035 is currently underway and is anticipated to be voted on by City Council before the end of the 2024 calendar year.

The Resource Plan not only determines investment decisions over the next 10 years, but has potential to shape the nature of Austin's generation mix, our grid, emissions and rates for decades to come, depending on what infrastructure and decisions are locked in today.

Community engagement is a critical element in coming to the best outcomes for this resource plan and so we are very thankful to Emily Arnim of the Webber Energy Group for offering to present their work on the AERP (on very short notice).

For anyone interested or wanting to engage on Austin's energy future, this will be a valuable opportunity to understand: objectives of the Resource Plan; the context and constraints under which Austin Energy (and the grid more broadly) are operating; various options to address Austin's resource needs; and the process to-date and opportunities to get involved.

This will also be an opportunity to ask questions, get up to speed, and get involved, so I'd strongly encourage folks to try make the time to attend.
